It includes various characteristics such as vaginal post-coital irritation and severe pain.

What are the causes of Dyspareunia?
They can have an organic origin: infectious agents, genital-urinary infections, allergic reactions to condoms, diaphragms, intrauterine devices (IUD), or spermicidal creams and on elder senile people, vaginitis . Psychological origin: loss of interest towards the partner, which can cause an inadequate vaginal lubrication or lack of arousal during penetration.

What is Anafrodisia or inhibited sexual desire?
It consists of a general inhibition of arousal. It manifests itself through a lack of erotic feelings causing sexual intercourse to be considered as a “punishment”. The situation causes dissatisfaction and depression which is why excuses are constantly put forth in order to avoid sexual contact. The causes behind this dysfunction are fundamentally psychological: negation of success, of pleasure and of love, fear of rejection, difficulty to express desire, conflict, etc.
