WHAT ARE MALE SEXUAL DYSFUNCTIONS?
These are the sexual alterations from the male that appear when organic and/or psychological factors block a satisfactory sexual relation.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF SEXUAL DYSFUNCTIONS, WHAT CAUSES THEM?
WHAT
IS IMPOTENCE OR ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION?
The term impotence stems from Latin (impotens: not to be able to
). It is the inability to obtain or to maintain an erection to have a
satisfactory coitus.
¿HOW
MANY TYPES OF IMPOTENCE EXIST?
They can be:
-
Primary: where the male has suffered impotence throughout his
life.
-
Secondary: it appears after a period of normal sexual activity.
- Total:
a complete absence of erection.
- Partial:
selective loss of erection.
WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF IMPOTENCE?
- Organic:
these are from anatomic origin, genitourinary, endocrinal, infectious,
neurological, vascular, by drugs , etc.; they represent over 15% of
impotence causes.
- Psychological:these
are the most frequent ones and they offer more variety: affection factors,
development or interpersonal issues, lack of information, anxiety, fear
of failure, insecurity, previous premature ejaculation episodes, etc.
WHAT
IS PREMATURE EJACULATION?
It is the inability to exert voluntary control over the ejaculation
reflex, which means, the ejaculation onset overcomes the male without
being able to control it. This may appear abruptly or gradually over the
years.
WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF PREMATURE EJACULATION?
- Organically:the
less frequent ones. The affections of the urethra and prostate and all
those diseases that alter all reflex mechanisms of ejaculation.
- Psychological:
la anxiety, insecurity, fear to failure, etc.
WHAT
IS DELAYED EJACULATION?
Also called absence of ejaculation or ejaculatory disability. It
is an involuntary control of the ejaculator reflex that prevents the patient
from ejaculating. The organic reasons behind this problem are use of drugs
or diseases that affect the ejaculation mechanism amongst other. Among
the psychological reasons we find feelings of guilty, fear of pregnancy,
tension within the couple, awareness of infidelity, etc.
WHAT
IS ANORGASMIA?
It is the dysfunction caused by the partial inhibition of the ejaculatory
response. The expulsion stage of the semen takes place as a weak "dripping"
and there is an absence of pleasure sensations.
WHAT
IS DYSPAREUNIA?
It is a painful coitus which can arise during the sexual intercourse
or immediately after. The main reasons are: an extreme sensibility of
the penile glans, prior injury, lack of hygiene, circumcision, urethral
narrowness, etc. Occasionally, this pathology may have psychosomatic components.
¿WHAT
IS ANAFRODISIA OR INHIBITED SEXUAL DESIRE?
It is a persistent or partial inhibition of sexual desire or a
blockage of libido or sexual craving. It causes a decrease in the frequency
of intercourse between the couple and it may leas to a complete absence
of sexual activity.
WHAT
SHOULD ONE DO WHEN SUFFERING A SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION?
Visit the specialist as soon as possible.Sexual
dysfunctions have solutions when they are detected in their first
stages and when a suitable treatment is prescribed to the patient and/or
appropriate advice is given to the couple. |
